Safety Precautions

Drowning

Never use the tub alone, especially if you're new to cold therapy. Always have someone present who can assist you in case of difficulties.

Hypothermia

Limit cold immersion to 3–5 minutes, or 1–3 minutes if new to cold therapy. Cold exposure longer than recommended can result in hypothermia, which is dangerous and may be fatal.

Shock

Be aware that sudden immersion in cold water may shock your system, especially if you have underlying health conditions.

Alcohol / Drugs

Never use the tub while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Consult a Physician

Speak to your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, have underlying medical conditions such as circulatory disorders, diabetes, or heart issues, or are under 18 years of age.

Children

Do not allow children to use the tub without consulting a physician or pediatrician. Always supervise children near the tub.

Always use cold therapy responsibly and stop immediately if you feel faint, dizzy, numb, or unwell.

Setting Up the Tub & Chiller

01 Location

Choose a location that can support at least 1,000 lbs. Avoid placing the chiller in areas that cannot get wet. Both the chiller and hoses may create condensation, and water spills are possible.

02 Electrical Connection

Place the chiller close to a 120V 15 amp outlet. Avoid using extension cords. If necessary, use a 12 AWG extension cord with a single tap, not a power strip.

03 Connecting the Chiller

The hoses are color-coded. Match the blue-ring chiller fitting to the blue-ring tub fitting and repeat for red. Push each hose onto the quick-connect, pull the levers toward you to lock, then insert the locking pins.

Fill & Check Level
  1. Securely place the pre-strainer into the tub’s drain to prevent debris from entering the system.
  2. Fill the tub until the water is approximately 2 inches above the inlet.
  3. Step into the tub and check the water level. It should sit just above your shoulders when submerged; add water as needed.
  4. If the water level is correct but the surface does not ripple, attach the included inlet nozzle to promote proper flow.
Before powering the chiller, confirm the water level is above the inlet and all quick-connects are fully locked.

Operating The Chiller

Powering On
Plug in the chiller and turn it on. Check that the power light is illuminated. If not, press the button nearest to the light.

Adjusting the Temperature
Set the controller to your desired temperature. Listen for the chiller to begin priming and make sure no large air bubbles are coming from the inlet jet. Three dashes on the temperature display means the cooling feature is off.

Ensuring Proper Water Flow
Check that water flows continuously from the outlet and ripples the water surface. If flow is weak or absent, verify the water level. If needed, open the quick-connect fitting on the chiller outlet to manually release trapped air.

Using the Cold Plunge Tub

Temperature and Duration:
Beginners should limit sessions to 1–3 minutes. Gradually increase as your body adapts, extending up to 3–5 minutes.

Experienced users can extend immersion time, but do not exceed 10 minutes without taking a break. Prolonged exposure beyond 10–15 minutes can increase the risk of adverse effects, including hypothermia.

Cover: Use the included cover when the tub is not in use to maintain water temperature and prevent debris from entering the tub.

BeforeFocus on controlled breathing and enter slowly.
DuringStay aware of how you feel and exit if you become dizzy, faint, numb, or unwell.
AfterExit carefully, hydrate, and allow your body to warm naturally.

Maintenance & Winterizing

Water Treatment

Periodically treat the water with chlorine to maintain cleanliness. Chlorine kits are available on our website.

Cleaning the Filter Basket

Clean the filter basket weekly. Turn off the chiller, unscrew the filter basket lid, clean out debris, reinstall it properly, then power the chiller back on and verify proper water flow.

Water Replacement

Replace the water every 2–4 weeks depending on usage and water treatment. Watch for changes in clarity or smell.

Winterizing Your Chiller

If ambient temperatures may drop to freezing, 32°F or below, disconnect, drain, and store the chiller indoors to prevent damage.

  1. Unplug the chiller and drain all water from the tub pipes.
  2. Remove the jet nozzle from the inlet and install the 3/4-inch threaded plug.
  3. Remove the pre-strainer and insert the stopper into the floor drain.
  4. Disconnect the hoses from the tub.
  5. Tip the chiller to drain all water out.
  6. Store the chiller indoors until outdoor temperatures consistently stay above freezing.
The tub may be drained completely, or the plugs may remain in place while the tub is exposed to outdoor ambient temperatures.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

1. Should I keep the chiller running all the time?
Yes. Continuous operation keeps the water cold, reduces bacterial growth, and keeps the tub ready to use. Cooling from room temperature can take hours.

2. How often should I clean the filter?
Clean the filter basket every 5–7 days to maintain optimal water flow, clarity, and efficient operation.

3. How do I know if the chiller is primed correctly?
Check for a steady flow from the outlet and a slight ripple on the water surface. If flow is weak, release trapped air from the outlet quick-connect or add water to the filter basket.

4. What if the water isn’t cooling?
Confirm the chiller is powered on, the temperature is set, and water flow is strong. Clean the filter basket if needed and contact support if the issue continues.

5. How often should I replace the water?
Replace water every 2–4 weeks depending on usage and treatment. Watch for changes in clarity or smell.

6. Can I use chemicals?
Yes. Use mild treatments such as hydrogen peroxide or chlorine in recommended amounts and avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the tub or chiller.

7. How can I prevent freezing?
If temperatures may reach freezing, 32°F, insulate the tub and chiller. For extreme conditions, bring the chiller indoors or drain the system.

8. Is the cold tub safe for children?
The manual identifies the tub as designed for adults. Consult a physician for anyone’s use of cold therapy and have a responsible spotter for new users.

9. How long should I stay in?
Beginners: 1–3 minutes. Experienced users: 3–5 minutes. Avoid exceeding 10 minutes without a break.

10. Is condensation normal?
Yes. Place the tub where water exposure is acceptable and wipe away excess condensation as needed.
